At Milan Fashion Week, Missoni Autumn/Winter 2025-2026 collection, designed by Alberto Caliri, unveiled a bold and inclusive vision. With no limits on age, body type, or gender, the collection embraces a relaxed yet instinctive approach, shedding light on aspects of the historic brand that had yet to be fully explored.

Alberto Caliri appointment as creative director of Missoni in October 2024 felt like a natural progression of his long-standing relationship with the maison. Having worked alongside Angela Missoni for over two decades, he initially joined the brand as an external consultant, focusing on prints. Over time, his role expanded, and in 2021, he was first named creative director of the house. In 2022, he took the helm at Missoni Home, and now, as the brand leader, he continues to push the creative boundaries of knitwear couture.

MY journey at Missoni has been all-encompassing, Caliri shared in an exclusive preview of the new collection. Before joining, I used to move from one project to another because I got bored easily. But here, there so much to explored colors, yarns, the way they intertwine. It feels like  I am only scratching the surface of what can be done with the tools we have.

One of the most defining aspects of Caliri creative process is his deep connection to Missoni founders, Ottavio and Rosita Missoni. Working closely with both, he absorbed not only their technical expertise but also their free-spirited approach to design Everything  was instinctive, he recalls. You start with what you have, experiment, and let creativity take over. There were no strict rules, only a constant sense of exploration. That is the mindset I ve inherited from them.

Missoni legacy has always been rooted in color mastery, and Caliri is determined to reinterpret it with a modern perspective. Ottavio was a genius in color composition, he explains. In fashion, colors are typically paired based on what looks good together. But his most stunning creations combined shades you wouldn’t expect. From a distance, you might see brown, but up close, there is pink, electric blue, and purple all blending into something completely unique.

With this new chapter, Missoni is evolving while staying true to its DNA. Under Caliri direction, the brand is embarking on a journey that is both deeply rooted in its heritage and fearlessly forward-looking. The Autumn/Winter 2025-2026 collection is not just a showcase of knitwear excellence ,a statement of timeless, boundary-breaking creativity.
