HOTEL PRINCIPE DI SAVOIA UNVEILS EXCLUSIVE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION BY ANDREA VARANI

Hotel Principe di Savoia, part of Dorchester Collection, announces the launch of a new photography exhibition featuring a curated selection of works by acclaimed Italian fashion photographer Andrea Varani. The exhibition is displayed in Il Salotto, the hotel’s sophisticated lobby space, and runs until the end of September.

The showcase centers on a series of female portraits, immersed in rarefied atmospheres and evocative details. It balances striking black-and-white shots — emphasising expressive faces, chiaroscuro, and pure forms — with delicate and intense color photography that adds emotional depth to every scene.

Together, these portraits create a refined visual narrative. Each subject becomes the protagonist of a suspended moment between reality and imagination, reflecting a measured, authentic beauty that looks beyond appearance to capture a universal essence.

Born in Florence, Andrea Varani has been a prominent figure in the fashion photography industry since the early 1980s. He turned a childhood passion, shared with his father, into a lifelong career defined by curiosity and continuous creative research.

Varani’s professional breakthrough came in the mid-1980s through pivotal collaborations with Parisian art director Jean Yves Malbos and Flavio Lucchini, founder of Edimoda. These partnerships launched his career in publishing, leading to high-profile assignments for seminal fashion magazines such as Mondo Uomo and Donna

Throughout his career, Varani has developed a distinct style fusing fashion and travel. His work is celebrated for its ability to portray distant landscapes and suspended atmospheres through a constant, refined pursuit of beauty. In 2014, the Triennale di Milano honoured his artistic journey with the solo exhibition Untitled 199 – Itinerari di moda, showcasing over 250 photographs.

With this exhibition, Hotel Principe di Savoia reinforces its dedication to celebrating art and culture as part of its ethos, creating a vibrant, evolving environment for international guests and visitors alike.
