HIYÄM Wellness Living is a luxury wellness maison redefining personalised transformation through its deeply intentional, bespoke retreats. Founded by Hiyäm Jabak and Frédéric Charland, the brand blends presence, refinement, and intuitive design to create experiences that feel both restorative and powerful. With a philosophy shaped by years of practice and an understanding of human connection, HIYÄM offers exclusive, ultra-luxe private retreat around the world – a space to gain clarity, recalibrate, and return to life with renewed balance and purpose. In our conversation with the founders, we explored the philosophy, intention, and refinement that define the HIYÄM experience and why wellness is so important in 2026.
Tell us about Hiyam Wellness Living?
Hiyäm Wellness Living is a nomadic wellness Maison offering fully bespoke private, semi-private, and leadership retreats curated in exceptional destinations worldwide. Each journey begins with a single, intimate call, during which we design, from scratch, the most aligned wellness experiences our guest can imagine. Rooted in embodied movement, conscious nourishment, and refined rhythm, no retreat is ever templated; each is composed as a living sanctuary where performance and presence naturally meet. This highly personalized approach has become the signature of our work, and we feel deeply honored to see such a unique concept resonate so strongly with a discerning, global audience.

How did you come up with the idea and concept initially?
The concept emerged organically from over two decades of teaching and hosting retreats, beginning in Montreal where I accompanied other teachers leading group experiences, and later through founding Manifest Within across destinations like Panama, Quebec and Thailand. Over time, I noticed a quiet shift, both in my own desire and in the people gravitating toward my work. Friends, CEOs, creatives, and public figures were seeking depth, privacy, and flexibility, experiences they could not find within fixed group formats. I began offering fully tailor-made retreats as an experiment, and within a year, they naturally took precedence. Living and hosting these experiences confirmed what my body and intuition already knew: this was not only the future of my work, but the truest expression of my purpose, creating bespoke sanctuaries for those who need restoration, alignment, and presence the most.

Where do the private retreats take place around the world?
Our private retreats are entirely location-led by intuition and alignment rather than fixed geography. Drawing from years of global travel, including our life at sea aboard a sailing yacht, we feel into what each guest truly needs and exchange around a few destinations before selecting the place that resonates most deeply. Whether an island, a coastline, or a secluded sanctuary, the setting is always chosen as part of the healing and recalibration itself. In this way, the world becomes our canvas, and each retreat unfolds exactly where it is meant to, for both our guests and ourselves.
Can you tell us about what a retreat entails?
Each retreat is the result of a deeply intentional and personal process. Because our approach is entirely bespoke, everything begins with a single, meaningful call, a moment of presence where we listen beyond words and understand what the guest truly needs at this point in their life. From there, drawing on decades of experience, embodied practice, and a nomadic way of traveling the world, we curate a wellness journey that feels natural, precise, and deeply aligned. This one point of connection allows the retreat to unfold seamlessly, proving time and again that when presence, expertise, and intuition meet, the right experience reveals itself effortlessly.

How do you identify the spiritual, emotional or lifestyle needs of your clients to craft a retreat that feels personally transformative?
We identify our guests’ spiritual, emotional, and lifestyle needs through presence rather than formulas. The process begins with a single, intentional call, where we listen beyond strategy and titles to understand the person behind the performance. Many of our guests are founders, executives, and creatives operating at a high level, often disconnected from their own rhythm. Drawing on decades of experience in embodied practices, leadership environments, and hosting transformative experiences, we translate what we sense into a retreat designed with precision, from location and pacing to movement, nourishment, and moments of integration. The result is not a break from life, but a recalibration that allows clarity, resilience, and sustainable performance to re-emerge naturally.
Hiyam, as the creative force behind the retreats, how do your own personal rituals or practices shape the way you design them, and how do they guide the lasting sense of transformation you want clients to experience?

My personal rituals are not separate from my work; they are its source. At the end of every retreat, I intentionally enter a period of retreat myself, and after larger or corporate immersions, I allow even more space for recalibration through rest, energetic care, and osteopathic work, so I can meet what comes next with renewed physical, spiritual, and energetic strength. Ritual, for me, is woven into daily life: lighting candles in the morning light, cleansing the face at night with presence, simple acts done slowly and with intention. This relationship to ritual was passed to me early on, through my mother’s quiet poetry of everyday life, and it continues to shape how I live, lead, and create. Nothing I offer is grand or performative; it is about attention, care, and love infused into the ordinary. This is what I want guests to carry home, not a moment of transformation, but a way of living that continues long after the retreat ends.
Frederic, what guiding principles shape your operational approach to ensure each retreat delivers discretion and precision at the highest level of luxury wellness?
A few years ago, I went through NLP coaching and a wide range of personal growth trainings. That journey helped me better understand myself, but more importantly, it refined my ability to understand others. Every guest is different, each arriving with their own rhythm, expectations, and level of openness. In a luxury wellness context, discretion is not a service, it is a posture. Privacy, respect, and space are essential. Over the years, working deeply in the human realm has shaped a few core principles that guide how I operate: I respect personal space at all times, I remain highly attentive to non-verbal cues to sense what is appropriate in each moment, and I allow every guest the time and space to open up, only if and when they choose. This balance between presence and discretion is what allows each retreat to feel both precise and deeply respectful of the individual experience.

Hiyam, do you believe that there is a foundational element every retreat must embody?
I do believe every retreat must embody a clear foundation. For me, it begins with creating a truly safe and curated space, one where people feel seen, heard, and unhurried. In a world that moves fast and often forgets how to listen, the art of listening is essential, and it is something I deeply honor both personally and professionally. Listening creates presence, presence creates trust, and from there, meaningful transformation can unfold. While our retreats include movement, gastronomy, and refined wellness practices, they are equally shaped by humility and exchange, the understanding that every guest is also a teacher. Combined with an epicurean sensibility and a carefully designed environment, this approach gives our guests the tools and space to reconnect with something deeply beautiful within themselves.
For 2026, is there one piece of wellness advice that you can share with readers for a more fulfilled and restorative year?
For 2026, my most essential wellness advice is to consciously return to presence and the art of listening. We live in a culture defined by speed, intensity, and constant mental stimulation, where being truly present has become rare, yet it is one of the most profound expressions of self-love. Taking the time to listen inwardly to where we are physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually, allows us to recognize the limits we have reached, the boundaries we must honor, and the choices that have shaped our current reality. Whether in our work, relationships, or personal lives, restoration begins when we slow down enough to hear ourselves clearly. In doing so, presence becomes a grounding force, transforming anxiety into awareness and intensity into intention, and offering a more fulfilled, sustainable, and deeply restorative way of living.

What do you envision for the future of Hiyam Wellness Living, and in what ways do you see your retreats evolving to meet the shifting needs of luxury wellness clients?
The future of Hiyäm Wellness Living is rooted in refinement rather than growth for its own sake. As the needs of luxury wellness clients evolve, our retreats are becoming increasingly precise, intimate, and deeply personalized, designed to support leaders and individuals seeking not only restoration, but a more conscious and elevated way of living. Beyond holistic practices, our work embraces the art of refinement: reconnecting guests with themselves through embodied presence, curated environments, and a strong epicurean and gastronomic sensibility. Each experience is conceived as a poetic space where beauty, pleasure, freedom, and celebration are honored alongside depth and clarity. Moving forward, our retreats will continue to evolve as immersive sanctuaries, not to escape life, but to refine how one lives, feels, leads, and celebrates it.
HIYÄM Wellness Living remains rooted in intention, refinement, and a quieter expression of luxury. As the maison evolves, Hiyäm and Frédéric continue to shape retreats that feel considered, personal, and aligned with a mindful way of living.
