Preciosa Lighting Unveils “Drifting Lights” at Downtown Dubai Design 2025

Preciosa Lighting, the renowned Czech brand celebrated for transforming traditional glassmaking through contemporary design and advanced technology, introduces its latest Signature Design: Drifting Lights. Debuting at Downtown Dubai Design 2025, the collection reimagines light as a living presence — captured, guided, and set in motion within crystal-clear fused glass.

Where Light Lingers Like Memory

The beauty of Drifting Lights lies within. Fragile, suspended worlds are held inside glass, where light does not simply reflect, but lingers — like a beautiful echo from the past.

Tiny bubbles drift through the material like silent carriers of light, bending and guiding illumination as it travels, preserving its memory. This natural alchemy, born during the fusion of glass sheets, creates living constellations within each piece. Crisp, precisely aligned panels are suspended within a refined steel silhouette, illuminated by static or dynamic light that awakens their inner landscapes.

A Contemporary Expression of Purity and Craft

At the heart of the design are crystal-clear fused glass panels, each framed in slender stainless steel. A carefully controlled fusion technique forms delicate air pockets throughout the glass, giving every panel a unique inner topography. As light passes through, it flows with a liquid quality, casting emotive, ever-evolving scenes that transform surrounding spaces.

Panels are available in ten distinctive sizes and may be arranged vertically or horizontally, allowing designers to compose installations that range from understated to sculptural.

Layers of Artistry

The bubbled glass panels can be elevated further with the optional Fused Veil pattern, offered in Vortex and Diagonal motifs. This artistic layer introduces subtle pigment movements within the glass, adding depth, shimmer, and a refined diffusion of light.

For highly bespoke projects, a unique painting technique can be applied between the fused layers. This transforms pigment into floating, luminous traces within the glass — creating a personal, almost ethereal signature inside each panel.

Light as Movement

Injected light sits at the heart of Drifting Lights. Concealed LED strips deliver illumination directly into the edges of each panel, creating a seamless, internal radiance. As light refracts through air bubbles and pigment, it takes on a fluid, drifting quality.

While the collection offers a serene glow under static settings, its true magic emerges through dynamic lighting scenes. With 3D spatial mapping and RGBW technology, designers can choreograph flowing movements of light across the panels, shifting moods from calm and contemplative to vivid and expressive.
