Carolien ter Linden

Cannes Personality, business woman, TV host and model, we catch up with Carolein inbetween her busy schedule as she prepares for a summer on the French Riviera.

First off all I am honoured to be asked by James W Phillips to write an article for this beautiful magazine.

I am pleased to be connected with James by fashion designer Carolina Guna. I met Carolina ten years ago when I organized an event with all-Dutch brands in Villa Oxygen during the Cannes film festival. Carolina also asked me to be her model for a fashion shoot in Eze (near Monaco) and in the same week I wore a beautiful dress of hers on the red carpet at Palais des Festival. Carolina and I have always kept in touch and last year she was part of my Dutch TV show ‘Op weg naar Cannes’ which means ‘The road to Cannes’.

Born in the Netherlands, and married with two beautiful children (boy and a girl) I worked as model for many years during fashion week Amsterdam, Paris, London, Milan, New York, Hong Kong, Dubai, Kuwait, Marrakech and Cannes. I received the ‘Amsterdam Fashion Award’ for all my hard work and contribution.

Since 2013 I have owned my own company, a model agency ‚Passarella Moda’. I am also director of Miss Film Festival International together with co-producer Rebeca Riofrio who I met in Cannes and I organized this event for a few years in Cannes at the InterContinental Carlton hotel.

For the last five years I worked as a TV presenter and I hosted several television shows for RTL4 & Videoland and two years ago I came up with a Model TV show format ‘Op weg naar Cannes’ and I was allowed to produce this for RTL4.

The first season was a real success and last year we started with the second season. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we had to stop filming. We still need to film the last 2 episodes of this series!

Last year during Cannes Film Festival I was invited by Marc Fedida, Owner of The White House in Cannes. It was a big pleasure to meet and interview this gentleman at his amazing villa. I can’t wait for our next collaboration. You can imagine therefore that the city of Cannes became a part of my life and I’m looking forward to the next film festival.

This year I’m producing a new model TV show for RTL4 & Videoland: ‘Wishing on a Star’. It will be on television from September until November and also online. I’m not going to tell you what’s about yet, because it has to be a surprise! It would be a pleasure to tell you more about it in the next issue of this magazine.
